The class meets the qualifications for 40 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Vision Boards in Therapeutic Settings
Vision Boards can be used with a variety of different individuals for a variety of reasons. Vision Boards help create clarity, awareness, goals, and solutions for issues. Vision Boards are fun, non-intrusive, and good ways of opening up channels for trust and communication.

Teen Relationship Violence
Course Description: Teen Relationship Violence deals with recognizing, understanding, intervening, and preventing Teen Relationship Violence (TRV). The course defines TRV, discusses the impact of TRV-both short and long-term. Potential victims and perpetrators are defined, as well as methods of becoming aware of the existence of TRV. There is a discussion of barriers to treatment and recommendations for treatment and prevention strategies.
5 Units/Hours
Parental Alienation and Domestic Violence
This class shows the link between parental alienation and domestic violence, and the long/short-term impact that can occur in the parent-child relationship. The emotional damage that children experience is discussed. The class also presents techniques for working with parents who are experiencing parental alienation.
6 Units
Understanding the Impact of Strangulation
Developing awareness of the phenomenon of strangulation, and the difference between strangulation and choking. Students are introduced to understanding the significance of strangulation in terms of domestic violence, what the predictors of future and more damaging abusive behaviors indicate .and skills for assessing the presence of strangulation.
